Fuzhou, China - August 4, 2025 - We are proud to announce that our flagship N950 SmartPOS has obtained EU Radio Equipment Directive (RED) cybersecurity certification. This milestone follows a comprehensive evaluation by SGS Brightsight, a global leader in security testing, and final certification by SGS RED Notified Body.
Effective August 1, 2025, the EU RED cybersecurity requirements officially came into force, requiring all wireless devices entering the EU market to meet strict standards on security, privacy, and data protection. Achieving this certification is not only a regulatory milestone but also a testament to the technical robustness and security of our products.
The N950 SmartPOS, already PCI PTS v6-approved (#4-30504), successfully leveraged its previous security evaluation results during the RED assessment. This achievement demonstrates:
Outstanding product reliability and security – The N950’s robust architecture enabled efficient cross-certification without compromising on safety or quality.
Sharp international compliance awareness – Newland NPT proactively adapts to evolving regulations to ensure its products meet global standards and are market-ready worldwide.
Strong execution in global certifications – Close collaboration with Brightsight enabled a streamlined certification process with minimal additional evaluation effort.
Beyond security and compliance, the N950 SmartPOS also earned a Carbon Footprint Certificate and EAA (EU 2019/882) earlier this year, reflecting Newland NPT’s commitment to environmental responsibility throughout the product lifecycle—from design and manufacturing to deployment.
This RED cybersecurity certification, combined with EAA and the Carbon Footprint recognition, reinforces Newland NPT’s leadership in global compliance, product reliability, and sustainable innovation. It marks another solid step toward secure and responsible payment solutions worldwide.
